# 1. Connect your WhatsApp

> Link your personal WhatsApp to Orsay by scanning a QR code — no Business API setup required.

  **Why personal WhatsApp?** Two big advantages over the Business API:

  * **Send a voice message as the very first message** — leads hear your real voice before reading any text.
  * **No 24-hour messaging window** — you can message and reply at any time without restrictions.

## Connect via QR code

<Steps>

    In the left sidebar, click **[Integrations](https://app.orsay.ai/integrations)** → **[Personal WhatsApp](https://app.orsay.ai/integrations/personal-whatsapp)**.

  <Step title="Click Connect">
    Click the **Connect** button. A QR code appears on screen.

  <Step title="Scan the QR code from your phone">
    On your phone, open WhatsApp → **Settings** → **Linked devices** → **Link a device**, then scan the QR code displayed in Orsay.

  <Step title="Stay online">
    Keep your phone connected to the internet. Orsay sends from your real WhatsApp account, so the phone needs to be reachable.

## Connection status

Once linked, the [integrations page](https://app.orsay.ai/integrations/personal-whatsapp) shows a live **Connected / Disconnected** indicator (refreshed every 15 seconds). If your phone goes offline or you log out from your phone, Orsay will show **Disconnected** and pause the sequence — reconnect by re-scanning a new QR code.

## Daily sending limit \[#daily-sending-limit]

To protect your number from being flagged or banned by WhatsApp, each connected number is capped at **\~37 new conversations per day**. This cap is lower than a regular Business API number on purpose — personal numbers are more sensitive to being flagged for automated behavior. Once the cap is hit, new leads wait until the next day; it resets on a rolling 24-hour basis. Connect additional numbers to raise your total daily capacity.
